This is a pretty cool Pet Sounds mashup made back in 2005.

Hello! Thank you for making that available. I downloaded it and am listening to it now. I think I'm just a little too old to really appreciate it, though. :-)

What do you mean by "too old"? No one's too old to enjoy something if its really good.

Hey Alex! Yeah, that's true :) Guess the way the songs were put together was just not for me. By the way, I really enjoy your blog!

Some of the songs don't flow together the smoothest. For an example of a really good mashup, check out Dean Gray Presents American Edit, which is Green Day's American Idiot mixed together with other people's songs. That one was done really well. I've got it for download on my other blog:

Hopefully the download link still works!

Hi Alex! I just downloaded the Dean Gray mashup, and it is definitely put together so that the songs flow together a lot better. I also better understand what a mashup is. I've never heard the entire Green Day album, since I'm mainly stuck in the past. I think the way that Dean Gray mixed in U2's "Bad" with the Green Day song (that I've never heard) is pretty good. I think I'll give the Pet Sounds mashup another listen, too.
Thank you for posting things like this!

Some mashups are done much better than others...there's a mashup of Sgt. Pepper and Pet Sounds called "The Beachles: Sgt. Petsounds" that has worse flow than Bastard Pet Sounds. I think The Beatles' Love could be considered an example of a mashup...and it's the first one that I know of that's legally available for purchase instead of being put together for download on the net.

i dunno... "sgt. petsound's" has its moments and a flow all its own.

just takes a certain kind of listener. if you're into negativland or noise, it's a lot easier to enjoy.

i'm not really a fan of dance mash-ups, though...
