Live In Seattle 22 March 1970

Hey everyone, its time for some new stuff. This is a muddy soundboard recording from a Seattle show in 1970. By muddy, I mean REALLY muddy. What's special about this one is that it was one of a series of concerts when Mike Love was temporarily committed to a mental hospital, and taking his place at the concerts was none other than BRIAN WILSON!!!!!! You can hardly make out Brian's voice in this show, but he's there. Carl and Al handle Mike's leads for this show.

Very interesting; the boys could handle their own just fine without Mike. It sounded like Bruce was doing most of the talking in between songs as well. Thanks for posting this!

Well, of course they could function fine without Mike; Carl was the leader of the group at this point in time. I don't think they really ever needed Mike in the first place. In my opinion Brian should've fired him the second he asked "what does over and over the crow cries uncover the cornfield mean?". Dennis should've been the one that fronted the group.

It kind of makes you wonder what could've happened had Mike not returned to the group. They would have been a pretty different Beach Boys in the 70's.

They would've been awesome! I wouldn't be surprised if Jack Reiley had harbored thoughts of getting Mike fired from the group...don't know if he really did or not, but its fun to speculate.
