Hiatus

Hello everyone,
I'm going to be without internet access for the next 6 weeks, so the blog is now officially on hiatus. If anything gets deleted, I'll reupload it when I get internet back. Enjoy what's on the blog now, and keep checking out Warnakey's blog, Triffids blog, Linear Zap, Lightman's blog, Dutch Beach Boys blog, Unbending never ending tablets of time, and any other Beach Boys blogs I've neglected to mention. I'll be back around the last week of January with more stuff. Any reuploads, requests, responses to comments, etc., will be handled when I come back. Enjoy the holiday everybody. Take care.

If I don't get around (no pun intended) to posting tomorrow or Saturday, then this will be my last post for about 6 weeks or so. Sorry folks, but I'm going home from college for winter break and will most likely not have any internet access.:( Don't worry, though. I'll be back the last week of January. If I do happen to get online between now and the end of January, I will try to post something relevant to the Beach Boys fans, even if its not any music. Enjoy the Hawaii concert and have a happy holiday, whichever one you celebrate.

Cool Band Alert!

No, its not the Beach Boys (even though the Beach Boys are pretty cool). If you like the Beach Boys there may be a slight chance you'd like these guys. I'm talking about a band called Camera Obscura. They are a Scottish indie pop band, from Glasgow I believe. I just discovered them very recently. They are grrrrreat. The lead singer, Tracyanne Campbell, has a beautiful voice, and is not that bad lookin', either. Some of their songs sound like they could come straight off of Summer Days (and Summer Nights!!!).

EDIT: I was wrong on the Summer Days comparison. Camera Obscura's songs are a little too sad for Summer Days. They are more like Pet Sounds meets Belle and Sebastian meets a female Morrissey.

Here's a couple of songs by them that I like:

And lastly, here's a video for their song "Let's Get Out of This Country":

Hope you like this band as much as I do.
More Beach Boys stuff coming up within the next couple of days. I'm going home from college for winter break and will have very limited or most likely absolutely no access to the internet. That means this blog is going to be dormant for about 6 weeks starting this weekend. Don't worry, though. I'll be back in late January with more Beach Boys goodies. Warnakey, Triffids, Linear-Zap, Dutch Beach Boys, and Lightman will probably keep you guys plenty of company during my absence. Well, anyway, I hope you like Camera Obscura.

Dennis Wilson-Bambu

Hello again. Looks like those a-holes over at Mediafire have taken down Adult Child and the Smiley Smile Sessions (UM 18). I'll have to reupload those. In the meantime, here's Dennis Wilson's unreleased 2nd album Bambu. I prefer Pacific Ocean Blue to this, but I felt like posting Bambu just because it's more "rare-er"(lol) than POB (yes, grammar police, I said "more rare-er").

The Beach Boys and the Grateful Dead

Hey everybody! Until I upload the next big thing, here's 3 songs from the Beach Boys' legendary 1971 Fillmore East show with the Grateful Dead. The Beach Boys appeared on 6 songs total during that show, but I only have these three. I hope you enjoy them. And as Bob Dylan said during that very show, "these guys are fucking great!"

I'm trying out a new file server. Hopefully this one works out. I'm going to try that divshare site when I do my next post. This one is hosted by Savefile.
